    NJCAA District Semifinals Moved Because of Wet Field; L&C Set for Motlow State

    The NJCAA Central District Women’s soccer semifinals and final, which were set for Thursday and Friday at Tim Rooney Stadium at Lewis and Clark Community College, will indeed be played. But after rain Tuesday night and more rain in the forecast, officials have moved Thursday’s semifinals to an artificial turf field at the O’Fallon (Illinois) Family Sports Park.

    In a hard-fought regional championship match, The L&C women’s soccer team found themselves down 0-1 early in the second half. They rallied after scoring on a PK to defeat SWIC by a score of 3-1.

    Taylor Hansen of Edwardsville is among the 121 players selected for the second annual honor from Chicagoland Soccer, a suburban Chicago-based website that recognizes the best girls soccer players in Illinois.

    L&C soccer teams came up just shy of returning to nationals

    Both L&C teams dropped 3-0 decision to the Cobras in games that were dominated by the Trailblazers. And with the Saturday and Sunday defeats, hope ended for L&C’s hopes of return trips to their respective NJCAA Division I national tournaments.
