GODFREY — Just like Lincoln Trail a week ago, the Lewis and Clark Community College women’s soccer team blanked another first-year Region 24 team Monday.
L&C, which beat first-year Lincoln Trail 13-0 Sept. 4, scored three goals in each half and rolled to a 6-0 victory at Tim Rooney Stadium against Wabash Valley College.
The seventh-ranked Trailblazers (5-2) got two goals each from Boitumelo Rabale and Payton Corley.
L&C took a 1-0 lead in the 28th minute when Corley scored from an assist by Emma Lucas. Rabale scored a minute later from a Corley assist to make it 2-0.
Corley’s second goal of the game another minute later made it 3-0. Rabale assisted.
In the second half, Candice Parziani (from Rabale), Rabale (from Corley) and Lucas (from Ella Kiely) capped the scoring.
Rabale has 13 goals, good for No. 2 in the nation among NJCAA Div. I scorers. She also has five assists on the season. Corley has four goals and four assists.
L&C outshot the Warriors 21-5 and had a 5-0 edge in corner kicks. It was the Trailblazers’ fifth shutout of the season.
