Volleyball Team Wins 3-1 on Sophomore Recognition Night

GODFREY - The Trailblazers volleyball team had an extra reason to celebrate on Sophomore Recognition Night, Nov. 4, after earning a 3-1 win against MacMurray College's JV team.
Lewis and Clark won the first two sets 25-22 and 25-20. MacMurray came back to win the third set 23-25, and the Trailblazers won the final set 23-20.
"It was a great night for all of our players, and a special night for our sophomores," said Head Coach Jim Hunstein who recognized the sophomore players and their families in front of a large crowd in the George C. Terry River Bend Arena on Monday night. "I'm proud of these athletes and glad they posted a win tonight."
Sophomores recognized included Alyssa Wager, of Edwardsville; Shelby Long, of Chester, Ill.; Brandy Twichell, of Godfrey; Ashleigh Holtgrave, of Trenton; Hannah Baker, of Granite City; Lizzie Meierotto, of Brighton, and Michaela Hlafka, of Bunker Hill.
This season the team is 11-24 and 2-6 in the conference, and will begin regional play on Wednesday, Nov. 6.
