EDWARDSVILLE – Weston Slemmer is ready for the next level.
And that next level of baseball will be played close to home for Slemmer, who will attend Lewis and Clark in Godfrey.
“I’m very excited,” Slemmer said. “It was the best option and opportunity for him, and I’m going to be able to play close to home.”
Lewis and Clark is a member of the Midwest Community College Athletic Conference in the National Junior College Athletic Association.
Coached by Randy Martz, the Trailblazers were 1-5 this season before the coronavirus wiped out the rest of the schedule. Last year, they went 30-17, two wins shy of advancing to the NJCAA Division II World Series for the first time since 1996.
