  • GED®/High School Equivalency (HSE)

GED®/High School Equivalency (HSE) preparation classes offer instruction in reading, writing, social studies, science, and math so that students will have the skills necessary to pass the GED®/ (HSE) exam. Lewis and Clark Community College provides GED®/ (HSE) preparation courses within its district at various times and locations throughout the area.

L&C ranks higher than the state average in the amount of students who take the GED®/ (HSE) exam and meet or exceed the required pass/fail score to graduate with a GED®/ (HSE) credential. In addition, L&C provides a caring and dedicated staff that empower individuals through education and will work with the students on transitioning to their next step beyond the HSE whether it be post-secondary education or employment.

    Student Orientations

Before starting GED® classes, students must attend an orientation, which includes taking part in educational and goal-setting activities in addition to completing reading and math assessments. These assessments are designed to assist the student and instructor in determining what instruction would best serve the needs of the learner. GED® instructors will discuss various options available during orientation and will supply additional GED® test information and material as needed. Please contact the GED® office at (618)468-4141 or click below for details on upcoming orientation events.
